Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a client centered health profession aimed at helping people participate in all the different activities (occupations) of everyday life.  OT’s are trained to integrate their knowledge of the physical, mental, emotional and psychological aspects of human beings in all areas of everyday living such as work, play, self-care and relationships with self, others and the environment.  Activities are used to enhance a client’s functioning in any of the areas and adjustments can be made to either the person, the occupation or the environment.  Activities are also chosen to provide the ‘just right’ challenge, if too difficult a person may loose confidence or too easy and they loose interest.
